Miguna Miguna is not easy to work with. That is no longer a secret. Even TV presenters find it hard to contain his humongous hubris and ego.
We are all allowed to feel entitled and assuming we’re right at every turn, but Miguna uses a different scale from the rest of us. From what we’ve seen in the past few weeks, Miguna always thinks he is the smartest man in the room, and as if that’s not enough, looks down upon everyone else.
Every TV host who asks him uncomfortable questions is either mediocre, fake or cartel.
With this kind of attitude and personality, it came as no surprise on Saturday when his running mate Karen Wangenye quit.
Ms Karen addressed the media at a Nairobi hotel, where she revealed that Miguna is not ‘a team player’.

“Unfortunately I’m here today to let the public know that I would like to resign from that position. Not that I do not believe in the cause; in fact, I very much believe his ideas are exactly what we need to implement to make Nairobi the green city in the sun once more… If a team player is not compatible with his people then they are not fit to be in any office,” she said.
“Let it be known that I have nothing against the Miguna and I wish him well. All I’m saying is that we are not compatible and I am not in a position to work with his methods of addressing issues.”
This is the second running mate to abandon Miguna Miguna in just 2 months. The first one, James Gathungu, was dropped on the day of presenting papers to the IEBC.
“That man disappeared for two weeks and only turned up on the day I was presenting my nomination papers,” Miguna said at NTV then.
Reacting to the news, Miguna said that he had not received official communication from Karen, and that there was no provision in the constitution for a running mate resignation.
