Fresh from signing a publishing deal with South Africa’s Gallo Records, songstress Habida is also taking her acting career to new heights. Apparently, She is set to appear in a new TV series by Insignia.
“I am shooting my first series with a production company called insignia run by Phillip Bresson. I finally chose this series because of the great story line and it has a fabulously written script by Grace Kahaki. It also helps that the insignia team is awesome. It was hard to accept the role based on how badly actors are paid but the kind of quality in production that Insignia is bringing to the table convinced me to support Phillip because I believe in his dream of changing the industry as well as fulfilling my passion of acting,” she told The Star.
Speaking about her work as an actress, she revealed that she has worked with internationally recognized writer and producer, Tyler Perry.
“Yes I have acted before. I have a degree in performing Art from Kennesaw State University in Atlanta. And while I was out there I acted in a soap opera and was an extra several times on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne,” Habida said.
“I had worked on a couple of productions in Nairobi before I moved to London. I also have an acting course certificate from Lewisham College in London,” she said.
The sunshine hit maker will be playing the role of a nurse called Natasha in the new television series.
