There was panic at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology(JKUAT) main campus when fire engulfed one of the hostels at the institution.
The afternoon inferno is reported to have begun in a room located at the top floor of the institution’s biggest hostel, Hall 6, before spreading to neighbouring rooms on the block.
Before the fire brigade department could respond, some students took matters in their own hands and attempted to put out the fire.
