The Standard Gauge Railway is on course to been delivered ahead of schedule, something that rarely happens in this country.
About 60 percent of the Mombasa to Nairobi section is done, and new Transport Principal Secretary Irungu Nyakera has said that we are looking at a mid 2017 completion. Speaking during a familiarization tour, Mr Irungu revealed that 56 locomotives will arrive by the end of this year.
The SGR has 33 stations presently under construction – 10 passenger and 23 passing stations.
