Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has officially launched the People’s Renaissance Movement (PM Party), a new political party, as he moves to position it as a major contender ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking during the launch on Tuesday, Amisi said the party will champion economic liberation, justice, and a renaissance for Kenyans as the country heads into the 2027 vote.
He added that the party will mobilize Kenyans around an economic agenda while working toward forming the next government.
“We, the people of Kenya, hereby launch the People’s Renaissance Movement to deliver the country from economic liberation, economic renaissance and economic justice, and to form a government of the people, by the people, for the people,” Amisi said.
Amisi also urged Kenyans, especially young people, to take up what he described as the responsibility of fighting for the fourth liberation, economic empowerment.
“This fourth liberation is a duty of our generation. The past three generations rose and did what needed to be done. We are now being called as a generation to rise with enthusiasm, charisma, courage, and patriotism to do what needs to be done today,” he said.
“What needs to be done is economic renaissance.”
Amisi’s launch of the new party comes months after his removal from the ODM National Executive Committee, signalling a new phase in his political career.
Speaking as the party’s membership recruitment head, Samuel Mwenyekenye said the People’s Renaissance Movement had already set up a presence in all 47 counties and continued to grow its membership steadily.
Mwenyekenye said the party had registered more than 5,000 members across 26 counties and planned to intensify recruitment ahead of the 2027 elections.
During its National Delegates Convention in Nairobi, the party also unveiled its interim National Executive Committee (NEC). Anthony Buluma was appointed Secretary-General, with Emmanuel Serabai as his deputy, while Teddy Mwambire took the role of National Chairman, deputised by Paul Mitungi.
Jean Njoroge was named Organising Secretary, with Dafold Livanze as her deputy. Sebastian Odanga was appointed National Treasurer, deputized by Margaret Sisi.
The party’s women and youth wings will be led by Patricia Kagendo and Sophie Mugure, respectively, and Ambrose Kiplagat will serve as the national chairperson representing persons with disabilities.
Other officials include Maliun Farah as Director of Campaigns and Brian Onyango as Secretary for Legal Affairs.
