In a public notice on Thursday, July 23, the authority urged the public to check agency credentials through the National Employment Authority Integrated Management System (NEAIMS) portal.
How to Verify a Recruitment Agency
NEA outlined the following steps for job seekers to confirm an agency’s registration status:
- Visit the official NEAIMS website.
- Navigate to the “Recruitment Agencies” section on the homepage menu.
- Select “Verify Employment Agency” to open the search portal.
- Confirm that the “Registered” tab is selected.
- Enter the agency’s name into the search bar.
What to Look For
NEA noted that a legitimate agency will display an active listing, a valid license, and official verification from relevant authorities. If an agency meets these criteria, job seekers can safely proceed with their applications.
Conversely, if the portal reveals an invalid or expired license, or if the agency lacks official verification, the authority advises job seekers to avoid further engagement.
Advisory Follows Earlier Warning on M-Ajira
The advisory follows recent warnings from NEA regarding unregistered entities operating in the job market, including an agency named M-Ajira.
The authority had previously cautioned Kenyans against using M-Ajira, highlighting that the agency failed to register under the Labour Institutions Act to legally recruit and place migrant workers.
