During a church service attended by President William Ruto, Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi condemned individuals “disrespecting the Head of State”.
Elachi emphasized the importance of respecting the president, calling him “our father” and claiming that people abroad often wonder where Kenyans come from.
“We must respect the president; he is our father. When you go abroad they wonder which country we come from,” Elachi said.
She went on to criticize those dissatisfied with the country, urging them to leave if they felt Kenya was “bad.”
“Foreigners say Kenya is a good country, yet some Kenyans stay here and complain. If Kenya is so bad, why not leave? What are you doing in a bad place, disappear. If you can not leave then know this is your country and there is nowhere else you can go,” Elachi stated.
She further added, “In Dar es Salaam, they say Kenyans insult their leaders and come here to ruin our country. Where will you go? Let’s respect the President.”
