Word on the street has it that Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti shares the same tailor as Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Uganda President Yoweri Museveni.
These were some of the taunts that were directed toward the governor after she stepped out in oversized clothing on her birthday.
Governor Wavinya, through her social media communications team, shared photos from a public participation forum held in Athiriver on Tuesday.
“Today I decided to mark my birthday by engaging with Machakos County residents on the final day of the 2-week long Public Participation forums I have been holding in all the 40 wards in Machakos County. I thank God for blessing me with another year. This is another chance for me to serve residents of our great County of Machakos,” said Governor Ndeti.
However, netizens pointed out the governor’s unflattering beige skirt and coat.
They asked questions like, “Is your tailor related to Museveni’s tailor?”
“Governor, did you employ Riggy G’s tailor?” another netizen asked.
Another wrote: “You need to be sued for misusing the material Madam Governor. Why hire what Gachagua has sacked?”
“Governor whose clothes did you wear today? You look like a guy we used to call in our place ‘mwasi wa ndii’..”
“Gachagua is spoiling this country,” added another.
In response to the comments, Governor Wavinya said she was having one of those days.
“It was just one of those days. Poleni,” she apologised.
At least TikToker David Moya was on hand to put a smile on her face.
