KCPE Candidate in Court For Stealing Car, Sh31,000 From Female Motorist in Kitengela

A teenage boy was arraigned in a Kajiado court Wednesday and charged with stealing a car in Milimani area of Kitengela town.

The 14-year-old boy, jointly with others, allegedly stole the vehicle – a Toyota Premio registration number KCL 532B – valued at Sh.1.6 million from Jacquelyne Karithoni Gitonga on June 17, 2019.

The accused, who appeared before Magistrate Becky Cheloti, was also accused of stealing Sh31,000 from the complainant on the said day. He was arrested on June 18, 2019, at a mall in the area after CCTV cameras captured him driving in and parking at the establishment’s basement.

The Standard 8 pupil who is set for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations denied the charges.

He was released on a bond of Sh200, 000 or Sh100,000 cash bail.

The matter will be mentioned on July 3 before the hearing slated for September 12, 2019.
