The Kansoul have tapped into the South African Kwaito vibe in their latest release.

The track is titled ‘Pikoko Lithim’, another club banger from the Kenyan ambassadors of party music.

In ‘Pikoko’, the trio of Mejja, Madtraxx and Kid Kora are singing about proud handsome women and urging them to let go of their Peacock(Pikoko) tendencies.

The Kansoul, who have perfected the art of making club bangers in the Kenyan music genre, Genge, seem to be experimenting with a new sound inspired by South Africa’s Kwaito genre which is characterised by rhythmically recited vocals over an instrumental backing with strong bass lines and heavy drums.

The reviews for ‘Pikoko’ are mixed and it may take a while to grow on some Kansoul fans who are used to a more Kenyan sound.
