NIS Officer Robbed in City Centre, Loses Pistol

A National Intelligence Service Officer was on Monday robbed while walking in the city centre.

The officer was walking in Nairobi’s River Road area near the Accra Road – River Road junction when he was approached by two people seeking his help.

A police report indicates that the two men approached him and asked him for directions to World Vision Center. While he was directing them, a third person joined them after which they grabbed the traveling bag that he was carrying.

Inside the bag, the officer had personal items and his pistol, serial number NSIS VHA472, with ten rounds of ammunition.

Police are investigating the incident.
