Tanzania’s Bongo Flava singer Mr Nice has addressed reports that he was robbed during the swearing in ceremony of Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.
The singer was among the artists lined up to perform during the ceremony at Uhuru Park on Monday.
According to a section of media reports, Mr Nice was robbed of his chains and documents after being mugged by fans backstage.
But according to the singer, the reports are false as nothing was stolen from him.
In a long Facebook post, Mr Nice blasted the media for making him a subject of vile accusations.
According to Mr Nice, his fans were scrambling to dance with him and in the ensuing confusion, his chains snapped and his documents dropped from his pocket.
He added: “Mkome kabisaaaa kutengeneza ishu za kipumbavu ili muuze vijikaratasi vyenu huko mtaani. Kenya iko sawa na hakuna tatizo lolote kabisaaaaaa na bado 21/8/2017 tuwache rafiki yangu Sonko achape kazi na Nairobi ifaidike naye.”
