A man from Kabutie Village in Kapsabet, Nandi County has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife after he reportedly caught her in the act with a neighbour.
Joseph Kiptanui, 35, is said to have stormed the house of his neighbour, Hillary Kipkosgei, when he suspected that his wife was engaging in an illicit affair with Kipkosgei.
Nandi Central OCPD, Stephen Obara, said the suspect busted the two in the act, before stabbing his wife severally in the chest and head, killing her on the spot.
The suspect’s neighbour attempted to escape but Kiptanui stabbed him too, seriously injuring him.
He was rescued by his neighbours before Kiptanui could inflict further harm.
Kiptanui is being held at the Kapsabet Police Station as investigations continue.
The body of Kiptanui’s wife was moved to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital.
