Kenya’s revered songbird Wahu Kagwi last week paid tribute to her late dad in a touching social media post.
Wahu’s beloved dad passed away four years ago just days after the award-winning singer told him she was expectant with her second born daughter, Nyakio.
Wahu and husband David Mathenge better known as Nameless have two daughters, Tumiso, 10 and Nyakio, 3.
Posting a photo of the girls’ grandpa, Wahu sang his praises as an amazing father who was wise and friendly.
She wrote:
“Remembering my daddy….Its been 4 years since you left us. some days are better than others, but today i can smile 🙂 I still remember how happy you were when i told you i was expecting nyakio. Im so glad i told you. That joy was priceless to me….i didn’t know you would leave us just a few days after that. Daddy you were such an amazing father to me. Prayerful, wise, comforting, friendly……so many beautiful words i can use to describe you. 🙂 It gives me comfort to know you are up there with the Heavenly Father, where you belong. Im grateful for the time we shared together… Love you always. Wahu.”
