Tragedy struck at the Co-Operative University College, Karen after a bus that was ferrying students overturned.
The overloaded bus reportedly tipped over, crushing some students underneath. The Rongai-based matatu had been hired by a group of students to campaign for one of the contenders for the position of student chairman.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, students are seen hanging dangerously from the sides of the Matatu moments before it lost control.
According to reports, one student died on the spot while another succumbed while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital. Scores others were injured and admitted.
The driver of the Rongai based public service vehicle christened Ballistic, has been arrested and will be charged in court soon, according to police.
