In August last year, the story of Baby Fidelis Muthoni made headlines in the country. The girl was diagnosed with a frontal bone defect known as frontal Encephalocele, which led to Kenyans coming together to raise funds for her operation.
However, one Mr. Benson Wanjau, founder of Hope Foundation who had volunteered to help the family in raising the money reportedly disappeared with funds worth Ksh 2.8 Million.
President Uhuru Kenyatta stepped in after the debacle and 6 months ago, Fidelis Muthoni jetted off to Canada for the surgery.
She jetted back into the country this week to a joyous welcome at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
She will undergo two more surgeries later this year.
