It’s popcorn time. Former devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru on Tuesday wrote her own affidavit linking Majority Leader Aden Duale, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Farouk Kibet – Deputy President William Ruto’s personal assistant to the never ending NYS scandal.
Waiguru said that Duale and Murkomen had their hands all over the NYS corruption scam and the investigations. She said that Murkomen told her to direct the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to drop the investigations into the scandal, or face unspecified consequences.
“I played no role whatsoever in the fraudulent activities at the NYS, but have become a convenient scapegoat. During my tenure as the Cabinet Secretary, I did all within my powers to ensure observance of the requisite laws,” she added.
It is curious why Waiguru waited until now to reveal this, and whether it would have seen the light if Kabura had not come out, but it now seems to be the season for every man for himself.
Yesterday, Duale called a press conference to declare war on Waiguru. He said that he has taken a sabbatical leave from all political engagements to deal with this woman who has a ‘psychiatric condition’.
