As is custom with any high profile visit by a top US government official, there has to be a projection of power, mostly unnecessary.
Secretary of State John Kerry jetted into the country yesterday and the security at JKIA was beefed up. Apart from the American security officers, our own Recce Squad was on the ground too.
Kerry later visited the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and is today expected to meet President Uhuru. Terrorism will be key on the agenda. He will also be meeting opposition leaders.
