Google on Monday honoured the late Kimani Maruge with a custom doodle on it’s homepage.
Maruge made history when he became the oldest person across the globe to enroll for primary school at the age of 84. His passion and zeal for education inspired the world and he was widely admired and loved.
Maruge joined Kapkenduiywo Primary School in Eldoret January 12, 2004. He later passed on in August 14, 2009 from stomach cancer.
The Guiness World record holder also inspired the making of the film The First Grader.
