Lupita Nyong’o Named People Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman 2014

Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o has bagged another accolade to her name. For her breath taking African beauty, the breakout star of 12 years a slave was yesterday named as People’s Magazine most beautiful person. This however does not come as a surprise to many because Lupita constantly makes the list of best dressed with every red carpet appearance. In addition, she recently landed a contract with Lancome Paris.
The Oscar winner inspired and moved many in her speech upon winning the Best Breakthrough Performance Award at the Black Women in Hollywood luncheon. In the speech she talked about how she was once taunted for her skin and how she felt she was not beautiful.
An excited Lupita was humbled by the honor and had this to say: “It was exciting and just a major, major compliment,” Nyong’o told People after learning she’s gracing this year’s cover. “I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen.”
She edged out gorgeous Hollywood stars like Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence and Julianna Margulies.
