The digital TV migration scheduled for this Friday this week has been put off by the High Court till December 23, when the ruling of the case challenging the shift is expected to made.
The parties challenging the move include Nation Media Group, Royal Media Services, and the Standard Media Group, whose grievances include the ‘illegal’ process of awarding contracts to the signal distributors, and the fact that the move to digital will leave in the dark many TV owners.
The three media houses had requested the case be heard by a three judge bench earlier on Tuesday but justice David Majanja declined saying he could handle it all by himself.
