A 34-year-old man in China has not been able to close his mouth for 21 years because of the size of his tongue. Wang Youping’s tongue is 25 cm long, 10 cm wide and 7 cm thick.
The huge size of this critical organ has disoriented his teeth and caused facial deformity. Mr Youping was born with swollen lips, but from the age of six, the swelling of the tongue began. At about age 13, he was unable to close his mouth properly. Since then, eating, speaking and breathing has not been an easy task for him. Many hospitals have refused to handle Mr. Youping’s case claiming it is very complex.
