A 31 year old man in Vietnam has been living with a tumour for 27 years and now it has grown to 90 kg. Nguyen Duy Hai has not been able to walk for a long time since the tumour weighs more than the rest of the body. Duy will undergo a 10 hour operation with a 50% chance of success.
“This is a huge procedure with many risks, including the risk of death during surgery or post-operative care,” the hospital said.
Lead doctor McKay McKinnonis not new to this as in 2004, he removed a tumour that weighed almost as Duy’s from a Romanian woman.
