Yesterday, some few minutes of rain almost made Thika Superhighway impassable. Motorist had to reduce their speeds to near zero, as the water filled the road. One car near the Pangani footbridge was almost carried away, and a photo of that was in circulation on social media yesterday.
Drainage on the recently completed road has been neglected, and the authorities have left residents fill it with garbage and all form of plastic. When it rains like it did yesterday, water is therefore left with nowhere to go, but to fill the road.
