Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko says there will be fresh elections if Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Women Representative Rachel Shebesh do not reconcile within seven days.
The senator said that the two are concentrating too much on their dispute which is affecting development in the city. He said “It is time they learnt that they cannot hold the city at ransom with this unending feud.” He added that the two needed to talk out the matter and end it as “Nairobi is bigger than either of them.”
Sonko said this during a tour of Starehe, Dagoretti South and Makadara constituencies.
Shebesh and Kidero failed to agree on a settlement even after the courts gave them time to do so. Shebesh is said to have demanded up to Sh100 million to let the matter slide, but the governor is on record saying he will not give her a penny. He said reconciliation should not involve commerce.
The incident in question is last year City Hall assault.
