Last year, security flaws at JKIA were exposed by several media houses. This came just after an explosive device went off inside a coffee shop in the airport – the now famous ‘light bulb’ incident.
The airport embarked on the construction of a 16 lane security screening yard. The facility will be ready in the next two months, and as you can see from the below photos, construction works are going on smoothly.
It will have a full and under vehicle scanning system with a dog and veterinary section, fully equipped passenger screening section, offices for site operations and security personnel amongst other facilities.
