A weird Ugandan is determined to be in space by the year 2020. Chris Nsamba, a freelance aeronautics engineer and founder of the African Space Research Program has been building the spacecraft in his backyard. He has even been interviewed by the BBC and he showed optimism that he would be finishing his project within 4 to 6 years. Spacecrafts are known to take years and millions of dollars to build and what Nsamba is trying to do here is to work on this with zero budget. Already he has assembled a team of volunteers and we just have to wait and see who will be its first passenger if at all it defies gravity. Even though the end product never makes it out of his backyard, it is visually compelling and may do good been stuffed in an “at least they tried” section of Kampala’s museum.
