A 35-year-old man was killed early on Saturday, July 12, following a heated row over a parking space that turned into a deadly fight outside the Mara Junction Night Club.

The victim, Mandela Nabala, was seated in his Subaru Forester when a brawl broke out with another man, Sena, who was driving a Toyota Fortuner, as per reports.

In a police report, the altercation turned sudden. In the course of the fight, Sena was reported to have drawn a Glock pistol and fired at Nabala on the chin using one bullet. Nabala succumbed to the bullet wound a few minutes after being shot.

The authorities say the fight began as a disagreement over parking but escalated and turned tragic.

Mandela Nabala was rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

The incident was immediately reported to the authorities by the owner of the club, Ambrose Lelesit. Police officers from the station, led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), responded fast and made their way to the scene, which is about seven kilometers south of Narok Police Station.

During the investigation, police officers seized a Glock pistol with 14 live rounds and a spent cartridge suspected to have been used in the shooting. The suspect was also taken into custody at the scene.

The police later seized both his gun and his Toyota Fortuner as evidence during the ongoing investigation.

Sena remains in police custody as detectives continue to try and establish the full facts of the fatal encounter.
