“We Will Win and Get Tired of Winning”: Matiang’i Channels Trump at Jubilee Rally

May 28, 2026

Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Dr. Fred Matiang’i has challenged his rivals to present their records, saying they should do what he is doing as well, in a bid to determine who is best suited for the presidency ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking on Tuesday at the party headquarters, Matiang’i said he left his World Bank job to return to Kenya and serve his fellow citizens. He added that voters, not people who claim he lacks political experience, will decide who leads.

“This campaign is going to be ward-based; we will drive this campaign at the ward level…we will move house to house; it is going to be a ward-based campaign,” he said.

“Those who like to tell me I don’t know who has not done politics, we will meet in the villages we look for votes…we will talk to Kenyans.”

He said Kenyans already understand the candidates and what they can do, adding that leaders should no longer rely on lies.

The former minister also hinted at behind-the-scenes discussions with some leaders who he said are currently buying time before joining the Jubilee party.

At the meeting, Matiang’i welcomed new party members and Nairobi County aspirants, and he promised that they would secure victories across the country.

“As Donald Trump says, we will win these seats even in the wards, even in Nairobi and across the country….we will win win win and even get tired of winning,” the former Interior Cabinet Secretary said.

“Ukiona mood ya country venye iko, na mazungumzo yale tuko nayo na watu sisi hatupendangi kuringia watu…sisi tunasema tukutane mahali kazi iko.”

Matiang’i urged leaders and citizens to join him in rebuilding trust in leadership, strengthening institutions, and making Kenya a better place for today’s and future generations
