A man has denied beating up and sexually assaulting his estranged wife in Njiru area of Kasarani, Nairobi in February of this year.
Calvin Obiero Jack is alleged to have intentionally and unlawfully assaulted his ex-wife, identified in court papers as P.K.
The court heard that P.K was preparing to go to work when Obiero arrived unannounced. She tried to lock the door but Obiero reportedly forced his way in.
Obiero then allegedly tied her legs and hands before beating her up.
The court also heard that the accused inserted his fingers in her private parts ostensibly to confirm if she has been seeing other men after they separated.
The victim, upon realizing that Obiero was determined to harm her, told him she was having body aches and needed some painkillers and water.
The suspect cut her loose and that is how P.K managed to escape to a nearby police station and made a report leading to his arrest.
In court, Obiero pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000 pending a hearing in June.
