One of his many favorable outcomes since then is his newly finished home in South Gem, Siaya County. As a result, Jaro has extended his invitation for a housewarming party to the man he believes is behind his good fortune – President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Since meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi in November 2014 – after Gor were crowned Kenya Premier League Champions –, good fortune has been my portion. He opened a myriad opportunities for me. I believe it is God who sent me to meet and interact with the Head of State.
“Before I met the president, I didn’t know I would have such a house. Now, everyone treats me with respect and is ready to assist me because of my closeness to the Head of State. I thank the president for changing my life from a mere Gor Mahia fan to someone with a decent life.”
“Seemingly, he is a symbol of good luck, especially to me. I now take the opportunity to invite him to my Gem home for house-warming, and I will cook him kuku ya kienyeji. I’ll appreciate if he takes notice of my request and give me a date,” Soja said.
As of July last year when Jaro married his longtime girlfriend, Emmer Owago, in a traditional ceremony, he lived in a mud house.
Today, the two-bedroomed house is made of stone and has been painted with the colours of the Green Army – Green and white.
Check it out below. One would be mistaken to think it is a branch or headquarters of the Kenya Premier League team.
