Thanks to Big brother Africa, contestants are exposed to the African audience and the world at large. This has opened up life changing opportunities for those who have had the privilege of making it into the house. One of those accorded with the privilege and a subsequent opportunity, is Kenyan representative, Annabel Mbaru.
While she may not have bagged the top prize, Ann has landed herself a lucrative job as the youth ambassador for a UNAIDS project. UNAIDS aims to reach 15 million people living with HIV, with antiretroviral treatment and reduce sexual transmission of HIV by 50 per cent by 2015. Ann will be travelling to Ghana next week where she is scheduled to have a meeting with UNAIDS county director.
An excited Mbaru had this to say on her new job: “God is finally opening doors for me.”
According to London’s Evening Standard, former spice girls member, Victoria Beckham, is planning to become a goodwill ambassador for UNAIDS campaigns.
Maybe the two might work together at some point, but it’s great to know Ann will be working on such a noble project.
