Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko is offering a reward of Kshs.100,000 to anybody who will provide information that will lead to the arrest of the carjackers that shot dead innocent passengers in a Githurai bound bus.
The incident took place last week on Thursday, when a gang of armed robbers carjacked the Paradiso bus killing two and injuring 16 others.
This was Sonko’s message on Facebook.
Today in my office I summoned the OCPD Kasarani, the Githurai 44 and 45 drivers/touts representatives and the area residents spokesmen to resolve the ongoing bad blood between the public and the police in the area that led to a big demonstration on the shooting to death of an innocent tout and the rising carjacking cases of Psv and private vehicles in the area. Last week over three people were killed including a Psv driver Mr. Ndungu Njuguna (photo inset) after a Githurai 44 bound matatu was carjacked by gangsters. Together we managed to call off another big demo that was to be staged today and tomorrow. My compliments go to the OCPD for accepting to arraign in court the officers who shot dead the tout after he refused to pay bus fare. The OCPD also accepted to work closely with all the stakeholders in the area so as to get more information from the public to curb the menace. This will be done to other areas facing similar problems. I’m sending a stern warning to all those disturbing the peace of Nairobians that YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED. I’m also offering a REWARD of 100,000/= to anybody who will bring information that will lead to the arrest of the carjackers who shot dead innocent passengers in the incident. Kindly report any suspicious people or criminal activities to the police or call or text the Senators rapid response team hotline 0738886600 (strictly emergency and criminal activities). Enjoy the rest of your evening.
