According to reports, kenyan afro pop boy band Sauti Sol might be taking a break to concentrate on their solo careers. Nairobian newspaper writes that it has received inside information that the group members have agreed to work individually.
“The group has not recorded anything since last year. They may not be splitting yet but taking time to see how far they can get individually. It’s a mutual agreement,” said the source.
The group started as an Acapella group in 2006 and have grown to become one of the most successful bands in the country and in Africa. Following these allegations, two of the band members have come out to deny, but confirmed solo projects are in the making.
Delvin Savara Mudigi said,
“I’m up-country because I needed to clear my mind. I have been involved in various projects, which means that I’m also progressing my career. There is a time for everything and when that time come we’ll definitely let our fans know.”
Another band member, Polycarp Otieno, also rubbished the rumours.
“In deed we are working on solo projects but we are far from breaking up,’ he said.
