Mututho’s Stern Warning To Bar Owners in Nairobi

mututhoThe national anti-drugs agency has sent out a stern warning to bar owners operating outside the stipulated hours. National Authority for Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) chairman, John Mututho says he is aware of the dozens of pubs breaking the law. He has ordered NACADA officers to work with County Hall to enforce the law.
“Many of these bars selling alcohol outside the designated hours are operating with fake licenses and I have ordered my people to enforce the law,” he sad.
According to the law, bars are allowed to operate between 5pm and 11pm on weekdays. On weekends bars should open at 2pm and close at 11pm. However, most continue to operate outside these hours.
Mr Mututho also said that Nacada was working with Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s office to crack down on bar owners operating with fake licenses.
