41 people died this morning after the bus they were travelling in rolled at Ntulele, a few kilometres from Narok town.
33 others sustained injuries.
The bus was reportedly travelling to Homa Bay from Nairobi when the accident happened at around 1am. According to the police, the ‘City to City’ bus veered off the road and rolled.
35 passengers died on the spot, with 6 succumbing to injuries in hospital.
Among the dead were four children.
Traffic Police Commandant Samuel Kimaru said that they still did not have the whereabouts of the driver, and were not sure whether he was among the dead or injured.
“We still do not know the whereabouts of the driver. We want to ascertain whether he is among the dead or the injured who have been rushed to hospital,” he said.
