The brand name kiwi, manufactured locally by Sara lee Kenya is to be sold to the manufacturers of insecticides Raid and Baygon, SC Johnson. Also expected to be purchased by SC Johnson is Sara Lee’s insecticide, Ridsect. Already the acquisition has been approved and it is only a matter of time before it materializes. Apparently SC Johnson paid 245 million Euros to acquire Sara Lee’s global shoe care business. Kiwi has been the market leader in Kenya for shoe care business for a long time, producing polish, creams and cleaners.
