Teacher Wanjiku To Launch New Show on Citizen TV

Kenyan queen of comedy, Wanjiku the Teacher  is set to grace our screens again, this time with her own TV show. After an unexpected exit from the popular Churchill Show, where she hit the spotlight as an accent-challenged all round teacher, Wanjiku, real name Carol Tharau has moved to Citizen TV.
It was rumored she fell out with the Churchill Show management after they demanded a share of her earnings from the Airtel commercial.
The show’s crew however came out to deny those rumors, insisting that she was taking a break and would be back soon.
Before Churchill, Wanjiku was part of the Heart Strings Ensemble at the Kenya National Theatre acting in plays. She went on to become an audience favourite, and in the process corporates came calling.
The date of premiere of ‘Teacher Wanjiku’ has not been announced yet.
