Kenyatta University Ruiru Campus officially opened their new multi million shilling gate and perimeter wall on January 24.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Olive Mugenda officiated the ceremony. All classes were suspended, before Mugenda treated the students to a rare free lunch.
The one year project is said to have cost the institution over 20 million shillings.
Still on KU, the new school of Economics building was opened on Thursday. The official ceremony was graced by Central Bank Of Kenya Governor Professor Njuguna Ndung’u.
The building is located right next to the relatively new school of engineering building, and the multi billion Kenyatta University referral hospital still under construction. Some of the other developments in KU during Mugenda’s tenure have been the construction of a modern library, a student business centre, a student innovation centre, School of Tourism building, new lecture halls among others.
One of her most anticipated project however, is the UniCity project currently under construction. The first phase will include a shopping mall and a service station.
