Raila Odinga Junior, son of the former Prime Minister, has stepped up his campaign for the Kibra parliamentary seat, informing residents that he is already laying the groundwork for the constituency ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Addressing Kibra elders on Monday, August 3, Raila Jr. urged his supporters to manage the logistics of getting him into office while he shifts his full attention to organizing the constituency’s strategic future.
“Mimi nafikiria vile kupanga ODM post 2027, na nyinyi mnafikiria vile kupiga kura. Nishaenda mbele yenu. Shida yangu ni vile napanga Kibra sasa. Shida yenu itakuwa vile nitaingia. Hiyo sio shida yangu. Mimi nishaenda mbele, nimeanza kupanga,” he said.
The meeting brought together community elders from all five wards of Kibra Constituency: Laini Saba, Lindi, Makina, Woodley/Kenyatta Golf Course, and Sarang’ombe, to chart a path forward for the constituency.
“We had a fruitful discussion on unity, community development, and the future of Kibra. I appreciate their wisdom and continued commitment to our community,” he said.
Expanding his outreach, Raila Jr. also held discussions with long-time associates from the Friends of Raila group at JOOF to align priorities for the upcoming political contest.
“It was great catching up, sharing ideas, and reflecting on our journey and the future of Kibra. The bond remains strong. The journey continues. Together, we move forward,” he said.
