The day we have all been waiting for is less than a week away as Kenyan Afropop band Elani plots a mega comeback.
The vastly talented trio of lawyers Brian Chweya, Maureen Kunga, and actuarial scientist Wambui Ngugi, who have been on hiatus for the longest time after getting into a war of words with Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) over royalties, have officially confirmed their return on their socials.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m glad to announce that we are back,” says Wambui in an Instagram video.
Elani, who made their entry into the Kenyan showbiz in 2013 when they released club banger “Jana Usiku”, will be making their comeback on August, 8 when they shall release the first single off their second album titled, ‘Colours of Love’.
“It’s a beautiful piece,” says Brian, with Wambui adding: “I’m so proud of the work that we have all put in. I’m really excited for you guys to hear what is in the album.”
Maureen adds that “after the first release, a few singles will follow in quick succession.”
