Though President Kenyatta could not join his wife, the first lady, on yesterday’s marathon, he made sure he was present at the finish line to congratulate her. Margaret Kenyatta clocked 3 hours 46 minutes at the inaugural first lady’s marathon.
With her hands raised, the first lady ran straight to Uhuru’s arms. “Now I can boldly say, London here we come,” she said referring to the upcoming London marathon.
The race was to raise funds for 47 mobile clinics to reduce maternal deaths.
Deputy President Ruto’s wife also participated in the race, finishing in 4 hours and 20 minutes.
