DCP Launches Ksh100K Design Contest for Kenyan Youth to Shape Party Identity

June 10, 2025

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has rolled out a nationwide design contest to engage Kenya’s creative youth.

The winner will walk away with a Ksh100,000 cash prize and the opportunity to shape the visual identity of the DCP Youth League.

In a statement issued on Saturday, June 7, the party invited young Kenyans with a flair for design to submit original artwork that captures the essence of its youth movement. The winning creation will feature prominently on official DCP merchandise, including T-shirts, berets, and other gear.

“Are you ready to sketch the face of the Party Youth League? This is your chance to speak through color.”

“We are looking for an epic design– something fresh, bold, and that tells a story – for our official merchandise,” read part of the DCP’s statement.

The design must reflect the youth wing’s slogan, “Ssshhhh… Skiza WaKenya,” ensuring the message remains at the heart of the artwork.

The contest targets Kenyans aged 18 to 35, who must email their submissions to [email protected] by June 12, 2025.

Once entries close, the winner will be determined through a public voting process, giving everyday Kenyans the power to decide which design best represents the spirit and values of the DCP Youth League.

“The winning design, chosen by public vote, will receive Ksh100,000 in cash,” the party confirmed.

The contest is part of DCP’s wider effort to energize its base, especially among the youth, ahead of future political campaigns. It follows the official launch of the DCP Party on May 15, led by Gachagua at the party headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi.

DCP’s branding features neon green and white colors, with a listening ear as its official symbol, a nod to the party’s commitment to hearing and responding to the voices of Kenyans.
