Embattled Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu must be having sleepless nights as he faces six charges in Sh588 million illegal road tender case.
The governor and his wife Susan Wangari spent Sunday night at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detention following their surrender earlier in the afternoon.
On Monday, they appeared before magistrate Lawrence Mugambi at the Milimani Law Courts and Waititu’s lack of sufficient sleep was evident. ‘Baba Yao was captured on camera taking a power nap during the hearing for his bail application.
Waititu, his wife Susan and 8 other co-accused denied graft charges, with magistrate Mugambi sending them back to detention for another night.
Ruling on their bail application is expected today morning.
In the meantime, here’s a video of Baba Yao catching some much-needed sleep in court. Video courtesy of Citizen TV.
