A hyena attack left a man with severe injuries in Isinya area, Kajiado County.

26-year-old Julius Somoire is currently recuperating at Kajiado Referral Hospital after the carnivoran mammal devoured his manhood, hands, and legs.

Speaking from his hospital bed, Somoire said he was herding when the hyena attacked one of the cows and turned on him as he tried to protect the cow.

He said he was overpowered by the animal before being rescued by a passerby and rushed to a hospital.

At the Kajiado Referral Hospital, medics told Citizen Digital the patient was received with multiple injuries but was admitted and treated and is in a stable condition.

According to reports, irate villagers managed to track down the animal and killed it.

Somoire wants the government – through the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) – to compensate him for the injuries.
