DCI detectives have made yet another marijuana bust in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Kenya.

Authorities intercepted marijuana worth millions of shillings on Monday evening in Nakuru. The consignment which was packaged in 135 bales was on transit in a petroleum tanker.

The DCI said detectives had trailed the tanker for hundreds of kilometers before it was intercepted within Pipeline area.

“Detectives had to call a welder to cut open the Petroleum Tanker (which was completely welded) to expose the stuffed bales of Narcotics inside,” said the DCI in a tweet.

One suspect was arrested and is set to be arraigned in court today, May 21. He was identified as 27-year-old Hassan Ali, the driver of the tanker.
