Emmanuel Katto a Ugandan rally ace, considered by many East African rally funs as one of Uganda’s top rally drivers has sent his condolences to the Moi family. Mr. Emmanuel Katto who was a personal friend to Jonathan Toroitich was shocked by JT’s sudden demise.
The demise of Jonathan Toroitich, a renowned rally driver, came as a shock to his friends and family. He will be remembered as a great sportsman. He was one of Kenya’s leading rally drivers.
Emka (Emmanuel Katto) sent his condolence message that read “It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing away of my dear friend JT. He was a true friend and I will always remember him for his humility and fierce competiveness in a rally car. JT played a huge part in my rally career as I bought 2 Toyota Celica 185s from him with which I won my Uganda National Rally Championship. We also competed together in the KNRC and had some epic battles against each other, the most memorable one being the 1997 Caltex Rally where he narrowly beat me after we had alternator problems and I had to borrow a battery from a spectator. Above all else JT was a true gentleman and he will be greatly missed by the rallying fraternity. May his soul rest in eternal peace . ”
