Uhuru’s Son Jomo To Wed Fiancée This Weekend

April 4, 2018

Wedding bells are ringing louder than ever for First son Jomo Kenyatta and his fiancée Achola Ngobi.

Word on the street has it that the couple’s highly anticipated white wedding is scheduled for this coming weekend. According to an anonymous source, the high profile Kenyan wedding is slated for Sunday, April 8th.

“The Jomo Kenyatta wedding will be on April 8th. You guys should look out for it. The venue has been kept hush-hush for obvious reasons,” the source disclosed.

The church wedding will mark the culmination of months of covering all traditional Kikuyu marriage rituals. The latest of these traditional ceremonies was the Kũonio itara ritual, which basically means being shown the groom’s homestead.

Appropriately named, this ceremony took place at the Kenyatta family’s rural home in Ichaweri village, Gatundu South in November 2016.

It was graced by the who’s who in government, as well as hundreds of locals who were kept at a distance but followed proceedings on a large screen.

In November last year, days before President Uhuru Kenyatta was sworn-in for his second term, Jomo and Achola welcomed a baby girl who was named Wanjiru, after First Lady Margaret Kenyatta’s middle name.

Fiona delivered the baby girl at Nairobi’s Aga Khan Hospital.
