Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Ugandan singer Mowzey Radio.
The suspect, identified as Godfrey Wamala, was found at his hideout in a friend’s home in Kyengera, Wakiso district.
Police suspect that the man is most probably the one who inflicted the injuries that eventually claimed the life of the celebrated singer during a brawl at the Sky Lounge bar in Kololo, Entebbe last month.
“The suspect Wamala Godfrey was found at a friend’s home in Kyangera where he has been hiding. He is recording a statement at Katwe Police Station and will be transferred to Entebbe Police Station,” the police statement read.
Going by a video that surfaced online after Radio’s demise, it is evident that the suspect, who happens to be a club bouncer, was at the centre of Radio’s death.
In the graphic clip, the bouncer is seen hitting the late Radio of a wall before lifting him up and dropping him hard on the floor.
The Zuena hitmaker died while undergoing treatment at the Case Hospital in Kampala last Wednesday having been in a coma for two weeks. He suffered serious head and neck injuries.
He was laid to rest last Saturday at his mother’s home in Kagga Nakawuka along the Kampala – Entebbe highway in a ceremony attended by thousands of mourners.
