Sonko’s Ksh 900, 000 Reward To AFC and Gor Mahia

February 20, 2014

Mike Sonko philanthropy is not coming to an end soon. After embarking on the process of supplying free wifi in Nairobi as promised, he has walked the talk yet again. On Tuesday, he awarded AFC and Gor Mahia for their African exploits… a total of Sh900,000.
This was his post on Facebook.

Watu wangu, a few days ago, together with His Excellency president Uhuru Kenyatta and I rewarded our Nairobi greatest teams, Gor mahia and AFC leopards in their previous game and I promised the same kind of pledges if they performed the same.
Happily, the Ingwe, AFC Leopards have made us proud by raising our flag so high after winning 2-1 (Aggregate 4-1) against the Ethiopian Defence forces. I promised Ksh 50000 for every goal and Ksh 500000 if they won, hence i rewarded them a total prize of Ksh 600,000/- this afternoon
Gor mahia lost 1-0 against US britam of Gabon and Aggregate 1-1. The teams went for penalties where Gor mahia won by 4 penalties against 2 by US Britam. Every goal scored was worth Ksh 50,000/- and additional 50,000/- to the goalkeeper for each penalty saved hence totalling to Ksh 400,000/-. In addition to that, i had promised them Ksh 500,000/- if they win. For sure they did. Ksh 900,000/- is their Golden prize that i fullfilled yesternight after having dinner in union.
A promise is a debt. I keep my words and so i had no option but to reward the job well done by our two teams.

Oh yah, and he paid in cash. Take a look.
